Achievement

The seminar also included discussion panels with our own faculty and students to discuss key issues such as how to conduct research in China. These panels were extremely interesting in that they bring together a diverse group of people with experience conducting fieldwork in Yunnan, China. Participants included our own trainees, graduate students from mainland China and from Taiwan, and faculty from China who have been trained here in the U.S. The diversity of participants means that students hear a diversity of ways that individuals conduct research in China and they begin to understand the importance of finding their own way to work in China and with Chinese colleagues.
