Achievement

We have offered a writing seminar in both the fall and spring semesters which have resulted in students completing their preliminary proposals for their PhD as well as making progress on writing manuscripts for submission to scientific journals. In the fall, the seminar focused on guiding students interested in conservation to formulate their prelim proposal and to identify and encourage interdisciplinary minded PhD candidates to apply for IGERT traineeships. The spring writing seminar served as a writing support group for IGERT associates and trainees, regardless of stage of their research. Issues and strategies for effective writing of research papers and proposals were discussed. Students received and provided feedback on their work.
