Research Achievements
Inexpensive identification of source pollutant gases
During a 10-week rotation in the laboratory of Michael Hannigan, first year graduate student and IGERT associate Ryan Langendorf was able to bring a new mathematical technique to an existing research problem. This resulted in the improved ability for the group to identify source pollutant gases from an array of cheap sensors. This new technique is an achievement in that it has opened new doors to application of inexpensive air sensors – the new wave in air quality assessment.
