Achievement

Dr. Sushil Adhikari, who is an IGERT participant and part of the educational leadership team, was awarded a NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site on the topic of Biofuels and Bioproducts from Lignocellulosic Biomass (Award No. 1149940). This program will leverage many activities of our IGERT project and serve as a feeder program to get undergraduates excited about research in renewable energy. The first cohort of REU students will be spending 10 weeks at Auburn University during the Summer of 2013, and the IGERT faculty, trainees and associates will be involved with the mentoring and supervision of these undergraduate researchers.
