Trainees, associates recognized for research
Several AU-IGERT trainees and associates have received awards and recognitions for their research. At the inaugural AU Engineering Graduate Research Showcase, where more than 150 graduate students participated, trainee Robert Herring won the overall third place award for his poster: “Computer-Aided Molecular Design with Topological and Topographical Descriptors”,and trainee David Roe received an honorable mention for: “Production of Middle Distillate Fuels via Supercritical Phase Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis with Associated Upgrading Reactions”. At the NSF Workshop on Lignocellulosic Biofuels using Thermochemical Conversion held in Auburn, associate Yusuf Celikbag won 3rd place poster for: “Synthesis and Characterization of Switchgrass-Based Epoxy Resin”. At the AU Graduate Scholars Symposium, trainee Charlotte Stewart won overall 2nd place for her presentation: ”Effect of H2/CO Ratio on the Production of Higher Alcohols from Syngas under Gas Phase and Supercritical Phase Conditions”.
