Trainee delivers lectures on unit processes
In the spring semester IGERT trainee Milea Kammer developed and presented two lectures in the Module on Unit Processes for the IGERT course Design for Global Sustainability: Electronics II. She led the class in a discussion of Unit Process Life Cycle Inventory (UPLCI) framework using the extrusion process UPLCI from the Co2PE! repository as a case study. Milea then developed UPLCI case studies for the multiple processes involved in circuit board assembly and solder processing for high volume electronics manufacturing and taught the class how to deconstruct manufacturing processes to determine the energy and materials resources needed for their operation.
