Achievement

Solely led by the IGERT trainees and associates, we put together the international student conference of the Optical Society of America (OSA), entitled IONS (“International OSA network of students”). This is the first such student conference on the East Coast, and is a joint effort between between City College and Columbia University. This is a full 3-day student-led conference from cross-disciplinary training. This conference brings together interdisciplinary studies in optics and quantum electronics (prior student conferences were at University of Arizona and Stanford University). International students traveled to the New York, gave research seminar talks and posters.
