Achievement

Peter Snyder, ESP-IGERT Associate and PhD student in Computer Science, won first place at the Symantec Cyber Challenge Competition held at UIC. During this competition, participants from UIC and other colleges in the Chicago area have to penetrate a network of computers and obtain pieces of information in an increasing level of difficulty. Pete Snyder obtained almost all pieces of information, reaching the third level of the challenge, a rare event in all the competitions across the United States, according to the Symantec IT team.
