Achievement

Stacy Blasiola, ESP-IGERT Fellow and PhD student in Communication, won first place in the UIC Student Research Forum competition in the Art/Design/Humanities + Business/Computer Science/Mathematics + Social Sciences category. Her poster "What Friends Are For: How Network Ties Enable Invasive Third Party Applications On Facebook" explores information leaks occurring when third party apps on Facebook request permissions on user profiles.
