NVizABLE: A Network Visualization and Big Data Learning Environment
An interdisciplinary team of three IGERT Trainees -- Muhammed Idris (Political Science), Jennifer Smith (Geography) and Josh Stevens (Geography) -- developed a visual analytics software tool for complex social network data and accompanying scientific paper presented in April 2013 at the Association of American Geographers Conference. The project was conceived and developed initially in the Fall 2012 course, "Visual Analytics: Leveraging Geo-Social Data," developed for IGERT by IGERT co-PI Alan MacEachren and IGERT faculty Frank Hardisty.
