Nano-device meausre mitochondrial membran potential
IGERT-Lifechips fellow Antonio Davila who is from Professor Doug Wallace’s -a Lifechips faculty member-research group from the department of Biological Chemistry developed and prototyped a nano-device that measures mitochrondrial membrance potential at an unprecedented scale. Antonio successfully caried out this experiment. With collaboration with his lab, they were able to accurately assay the nano-device with just 2.5ng mitochrondrial protein, which is 1/250,000 of the material necessary to conduct this assay conventionally. They are currently in the process of submitting their finding to the Journal of Biomedical Devices. More details about this research will be discussed as a highlight.
