Achievement

A leadership and teamwork development program is a key component of our IGERT. One important aspect of this program, the Fall retreat, was developed during this reporting period. The purpose of the Fall Retreat is to promote teamwork and community building, as well as to strengthen the vision of an interdisciplinary culture. The retreat will be held August 21-22, 2009 at a Colorado retreat center. The participants will include 13 IGERT Fellows and associated graduate students, along with 13 faculty which includes the IGERT Executive Committee. This will allow the students and faculty to develop relationships, set expectations, and begin work on their leadership and teamwork skills prior to the semester.
