Achievement

Our first cohort of Fellows will begin in Summer/Fall 2009. However, during this reporting period we have developed components of the educational program that we believe will add exceptional value to the trainees’ educational experience. The first achievement is the development of our Intelligent Geosystems interdisciplinary course to be taken by all IGERT Fellows as well as other graduate students each Fall of the program (beginning Fall 2009). The course will include 5 modules that will guide students through the development process for intelligent geosystems. These include: (1) Intelligent Geosystems Overview Team-based Project (2) Sensing (3) Data Analysis (4) Modeling Parameter Estimation (5) Decision Support The course will be led by an interdisciplinary team of 5 IGERT faculty members.
