IGERT trainee gains experience in nanotechnology

Within this past year, Kris Marjon, an INCBN IGERT Trainee and a Ph.D. graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, has become extremely familiar with nanotechnology, which would not have occurred if he was not an IGERT fellow. He has concentrated on how to effectively incorporate this technology into his research which is biomedically centered. The IGERT program has also allowed him to learn about the different areas of research that each faculty member or graduate students participating in the program are involved in. Classes that the Trainees take also incorporate graduate students from different respective fields, who then work together on finding solutions to interdisciplinary research problems. This allows for bridging gaps between different fields at the graduate level. Mr. Marjon has found all of this extremely helpful and beneficial to his graduate education.
