Open house for prospective students
Each year, the Bioinformatics Program holds an open house for candidate student applicants to the PhD program. The students are invited based on a positive Admissions Committee review of their applications. As part of the activites, current graduate students organize a poster session/social session where the candidates meet informally with our current students, learn about their research, discuss potential lab rotations, and learn about life in the Bioinformatics program and Boston. IGERT trainees Joshua Campbell and Jignesh Parikh were responsible for organizing the poster session for the 2009 open house, which involved recruiting ten current students, representative of the spectrum of research conducted in our program, to present posters describing their latest research. The trainees were also responsible for scheduling and setup of the poster session.
