Achievement

Fellow, Cara Nasello, setup a human mesenchymal stem cell culture system in her lab (both derived from bone marrow and umbilical cord blood) advised by Professor Mark Brenneman of Genetics at Rutgers. She optimized the culture conditions through proliferation assays and colony forming unit assays. Currently, she is working on developing efficient stable transfection conditions using Amaxa and will begin using a lentiviral vector system shortly. She will be presenting this research at the Stem Cell Research Conference in Barcelona, Spain this summer.
