Achievement

Trainee Bernadette Clabeaux (nee Maciejewski) conducted laboratory studies to investigate the uptake rates of cadmium by Charaphyte algae. Participation in the ERIE-IGERT afforded the trainee significant access to analytic equipment, laboratory materials, and faculty guidance in another department (Civil Engineering) not normally integrated with her own (Biology). She has presented her findings at the 2009 Northeast Algal Symposium in Amherst, MA.
