Trainees have taken graduate courses outside their home departments. This is an important aspect of the program, because it encourages interdisciplinary learning and research while improving the understanding among students of different disciplines and promoting synergistic interactions. Trainees have incorporated this interdisciplinary knowledge in their own research projects.
