Achievement

Monthly ChemGen IGERT seminars, bi-weekly research discussions, bi-weekly journal club on research of invited speakers, and an annual retreat. These programmatic components are vital for fostering synergy between fellows and faculty. The seminar series has brought renowned and emerging chemical biology to UC Riverside. The fellows participate in selecting and hosting the speakers. An eminent scientist also participates in our annual 2-day retreat a conference center in the nearby mountains. These activities are critical in student interactions and provide essential contacts for internships and collaborations. IGERT fellow are prepared and eagerly interact with speakers. The seminar series is extremely well attended, attracting students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty from within and outside the ChemGen IGERT participant groups.
