Achievement

Collaborative publications involving multiple trainees and faculty. Fellows Kaiser (Chemistry PhD program: Main discipline analytical chemistry; Second discipline, plant biology) and Jang (Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics PhD program: Main discipline bioinformatics; Second discipline, plant biology) collaborated in a meta-analysis of transcriptomics and metabolomics published in the Plant Journal. The collaboration involved interactions with three faculty from biology (Bailey-Serres), computational biology (Girke), and chemistry (Larive). The interactions facilitated by these IGERT students resulted in collaborative research grants from NSF and USDA to Bailey-Serres and Larive.
