Achievement

Laura Paler, a fourth-year PhD, has conducted dissertation field research in Indonesia from June-August 2008 and in March 2009. She is also planning to conduct a field experiment with two Indonesian NGOs to examine methods for strengthening scrutiny of public finances in a resource rich district in Central Java. She will continued to work with collaborators on an impact evaluation of a post-conflict community driven development project in Aceh, Indonesia, commissioned by the World Bank. During this year, they completed the post-treatment survey and analysis. The results will be available soon as a World Bank working paper.
