Trainee Achievements
Pattern recognition and movement analysis
Trainee Stjepan Rajko is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science and an MFA in Dance. He has published and presented several papers related to pattern recognition and movement analysis at venues such as the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, the IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition, and the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing. As part of his research, he developed an open source statistical sequential pattern recognition and synthesis library which has been successfully applied to recognition of full body gestures and gestures expressed with tangible devices or touch surfaces. He also led the development of Rehearsal Assistant, an open source mobile phone application that facilitates the rehearsal process in the performing arts. This work is supported by a grant from The Performing Arts Venture Experience, funded by the Kauffman Foundation.
