Achievement

Collaboration between MTU and SUBR was enhanced during this reporting period by revamping the exchange format and including new metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the exchange. The time spent at the other university was reduced from a full semester to two weeks. The reduced contact time was compensated for by more intensive preparation and communication with colleagues at the partner institution in advance of travel to lay the groundwork for meaningful collaboration during the exchange, and to continue by email and teleconference for the remainder of the semester. Metrics include the volume of communication (emails and telephone calls), a deliverable work product (paper/dissertation chapter), and cultural exchange through shared activities and entertainment events at the partner university.
