Rajit Gadh elected a Fellow of ASME
Description
Dr. Gadh’s contributions are in the area of information-based design and manufacturing. His first contribution came from his PhD dissertation where he reduced a computationally combinatorial problem – that of shape feature abstraction from 3D geometric models – to an almost linear complexity problem via an intelligent filter. His second contribution was a virtual-reality based geometric modeling engine that allowed creative and rapid creation of 3D design, from which resulted in several PhD dissertations under his supervision. The third contribution was the concept and implementation of a layered middleware to integrate RFID into manufacturing/supply chain.
