Brook trout restoration on the Namekagon River

Description

GLOBES-IGERT trainee Patrick Shirey at the University of Notre Dame gave a radio interview on efforts to restore native brook trout habitat on the historic Namekagon River watershed in northern Wisconsin. The twenty minute interview with host Karl Habeck of WOJB 88.9 radio, Hayward, Wisconsin, was the result of a public river paddle to explore and discuss the recovery of the brook trout population. Current river temperature monitoring and fish surveys are made possible by a 2012 George Melendez Wright Climate Change Fellowship from the National Park Service.
