Trainee wins Green Fee Grant through the University of Texas
Description
Kristen Cetin, IGERT Trainee working in the Cockrell School of Engineering, was awarded $10,000 through the UT Austin Green-Fee grant system. The objective of Kristen’s project is the development of a campus-wide program to showcase to the wider community, the extensive sustainability-focused efforts of UT Austin and its dedicated students, faculty and staff. Kristen and her Green Team proposed the development of an online interactive sustainability map of campus, a self-guided sustainability tour map and children’s guide, and the development and implementation of student-guided Sustainability Tours. The proposal uses a collaborative approach that includes support from the Sustainability Roundtable group members, a group of “green-minded” UT staff representing many different UT offices and program.
