Description
IGERT aluma, Dr. Jessica Schiffman, has accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at University of Massachusetts – Amherst in the Chemical Engineering Department. In 2008, she was selected as an NSF Lindau Fellow and attended the 58th meeting of Nobel Laureates (focus in physics) in Lindau, Germany. One of her images also received Honorable Mention in the 2008 NSF/AAAS International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge, published in Science, Nature, Illustreret Videnskab, Focus Italy, National Geographic News, Weekly Reader, and Forskning & Framsteg. Following her doctoral studies at Drexel, Jessica joined the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Yale University as a postdoctoral associate.
The Drexel/Penn IGERT was instrumental in providing Jessica with excellent opportunities for professional development, interdisciplinary exposure and training to succeed.
