Summer Nanoscience Academy

The Fifth Annual Summer Nanoscience Academy, sponsored by the Atomic & Molecular Imaging IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) Program at The University of Texas at Austin will be held Thursday, July 7 – Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Larry R. Faulkner Nano Science and Technology Building – (FNT) on the main UT campus. This special 3-day workshop is designed for secondary and middle school science teachers and their students. 23 students and 11 teachers will participate in this year’s program.
We are offering this free workshop as a means to provide teachers and students with a better understanding and hands on experience in the field of nanoscience. The program consists of lectures, lab tours and hands-on laboratory experience. Room and board is provided on campus for invited participants. Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to a teacher forum, while the students are taking part in other activities. The Summer Nanoscience Academy is planned and implemented by our IGERT trainees.
