NSF I-Corps Participation

Dear IGERT Community,
I want to bring your attention to a new funding opportunity at NSF through a new program, I-Corps, announced recently. If you have a student working on a project that has commercialization potential and you are willing to support the student explore that possibility, please read the solicitation that is available at

The student will be the entrepreneurial lead, you will identify an I-Corps mentor, and you will be the PI for the project. The deadline for submission of the proposal is September 9, 2011. Please send me your interest and a short description of your project idea, no more than 250 words as a PDF document, for initial screening and submission to the EHR representative on the I-Corps team who will present IGERT-based projects and send authorization to submit a proposal, if selected. This step is mandatory (Please see page 5 of the solicitation). Please use I-CORPS 2011 in the subject line for me to sort through the responses quickly. Include a title for the project, your IGERT grant title and number, PI name and Institution, Student Name, I-Corps mentor name if you have one ready, and an abstract of the idea. The deadline for submitting the one pager to me by email is August 19, 2011, 5:00 pm Eastern Time.
