OSU IGERT in GSA

Description:

This year our IGERT students and adviser attended Gerontological Society of American 64th annual meeting in Boston during Nov. 18 and 22. The annual scientific meeting usually showcases the latest advancements in Gerontological research with over 3500 professionals and more than 500 peer-reviewed studies. We had three presentations and one poster. Topics included methods in microlongitudinal studies, self-concepts, social relationships and social contact changes with age. IGERT students were able to network with interdisciplinary scholars, especially for those first-time members. Inspired by the conference, we plan to propose a symposium on interdisciplinary team research work for the 65th annual meeting 2012. We believe our IGERT experiences would be valuable to inform and promote team works from various disciplines.
