Trainee Achievements
Fieldwork experience in Galapagos Islands
Trainees have gained valuable experiences in the Galapagos Islands through the development of mixed methods approaches to data collection and analysis. Ranging from household interviews to satellite remote sensing, trainees have advanced the methods for linking people to the environment, particularly, through the development of agent based models that are framed within complexity theory to examine dynamic systems and the nature of feedback mechanism for the study of coupled human-natural systems. Many trainee publications and presentations are reported during this period as a direct result of the exposure and their fieldwork experiences in the Galapagos Islands.
