Achievement

Trainee Luc Rougee and IGERT staff member Ronald Paik were trained and helped implement a distance learning platform program, Elluminate®, into the Hawaii IGERT capabilities. This platform has allowed for the direct communication between collaborators in different countries such as Thailand and Singapore. Lectures and courses presented by IGERT Faculty members Dr. Bruce Wilcox, Dr. Shannon Bennett, and others; as well as IGERT Trainee doctoral dissertation defenses have been broadcast to reach a large audience around the globe. This has allowed our IGERT to effectively communicate and educate through a popular media (video/internet) as well as the establishment of an archive of presentations and lectures for future accessibility to the public.
