Trainees and Haskell Indian undergrads collaborate
In March 2011, four IGERT programs collaborated on the workshop, "Understanding Rapid Environmental and Social Change in the Arctic: Bridging Traditional Knowledge and Interdisciplinary Science across IGERTs." In preparation for this workshop, students from the C-CHANGE program worked closely with students from Haskell Indian Nations University's Summer Institute program to design and lead four sessions which each took a different approach to the question "What is Traditional Ecological Knowledge?" This collaboration would not have been possible without the collaboration between IGERT Trainees and Haskell undergraduates during the 6-week collaborative Summer Institute on Climate Change in Indigenous Communities.
