Project with Infectious Disease center at Stony Brook U.
PI Schoonen initiated collaboration with faculty in Infectious Disease center at Stony Brook University. Project is directed at using minerals to eliminate bacteria from drinking water sources in developing countries. The idea for this project were in part generated by results obtained with IGERT funding. A proposal to the Gates Foundation to support this work is now pending. We also filed a technology disclosure and Stony Brook University is preparing a patent application.
