Trainee-HS student collaborate in project
A project was initiated by PI Tsirka exploring the effects of metals on immune cells of the central nervous system and the rest of the body during the process of autoimmune pathologies. The project was conducted by one of the IGERT trainees, Jillian Cypser, in collaboration with a high school student from the local high school. A manuscript is in preparation for the work, and the high school student, Sonya Li, received a first place award from the Long Island Science Council.
