Physics of molecular magnets

Tracey Wellington has been studying the physics of molecular magnets, while also serving in leadership roles that dovetail with her career goals in education research in the role of hands-on learning. Through support of her IGERT traineeship she presented results of her research on electrical transport in prussian blue analog FeII-CrIII at the International Low Temperature Physics conference in Amsterdam. She is pursuing a Bush School of Government Certificate in Advanced International Affairs to obtain a perspective on science and technology policy, and serves as Graduate Student Council President, on several university committees, and the American Assoc. of Physics Teachers Committee on Minorities. For these and other activities she was awarded the Montgomery Prize (presented annually to a graduate student excelling in scholarship and service) and the Buck Weirus Spirit Award, for outstanding contributions to Texas A&M, and the Texas A&M University Academic Excellence Award.
